This is the most addictive brownie/cookie type thing ever. I first made them over the holidays. Bad idea since we didn't have much family in town. Josh and I ate the whole batch basically by ourselves. My baby has been on a sugar high!
They are so incredibly easy.
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Cream the butter and brown sugar. Add egg, vanilla and flour and mix well. Spread on a cookie sheet until it covers almost all of it. Get it pretty thin if you can. I think there is enough butter to avoid spraying the pan, but I did anyway. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle on the chocolate chips. Return to the oven for a minute to melt the chocolate chips. Then spread out the chocolate evenly. Sprinkle with the chopped pecans and let the chocolate harden. Cut into squares. I like them room temp, or cold...I keep my extras in the fridge.
