This past weekend, we loaded up the car and a ga-zillion baby things (oh my gosh, who knew!) to head south a couple hours to Fort Valley. We went for our family's annual farm meeting, but more importantly, we put our dear Maughi's ashes next to her husband's grave. Although we had her memorial service in Brevard back in November, we celebrated her once more in the town where she spent so much of her life.
It's so wild how life changes so drastically in just a few months time. And it's odd how you can mourn the loss of such a wonderful person but celebrate the new life of a precious little bundle at the same time. That's life, right?
Baisden was all bundled up to meet some of her other family. The bonnet is a hand-me-down from my friend Kakhi...CUTEST. THING. EVER. She slept basically the whole way down. We did get into some traffic due to an accident and had a few little whines and whimpers.
A few pictures I took before we left...so peaceful and angelic one moment...
Total hell-raiser the next! :) I think she looks like me above, and Josh below. Haha, just kidding!
I swear we are going to be better about taking family pictures (especially when I shed this baby weight!). Josh and I seriously have zero pictures of the two of us.
Sweet baby girl. All tuckered out from everyone ohhing and awwing over her.
She also slept almost the whole way home...and the trip didn't mess up her nighttime routine, which I was VERY thankful for!
